This Sunday We Celebrate the Feast of Pentecost

Come Holy Spirit!

This Sunday we celebrate the great Feast of Pentecost and the fullfillment of Jesus' words to His disciples before His Ascension: "You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." (Acts 1:8)

But you do not have to wait until Sunday to experience the power of the Holy Spirit in your life.  He has been with you since your Baptism, and strengthened at your Confirmation where "the effect of the sacrament of Confirmation is the full outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the Apostles on the day of Pentecost."  (#1302 Catechism of the Catholic Church)

The Holy Spirit has been at work in you throughout your life. Forming you in the Living Faith that believes God. Believes His Words.  Believes His actions in your life, even those actions that are difficult to understand and even seem mysterious. Forming you so that in your heart you believe God.

The Holy Spirit is a Person. Not a bird or a flame, but the Third Person of the Trinity Who wishes you to come to know and love Him. The Holy Spirit is always with you and comes to your aid when you turn your heart and gaze toward Heaven.  Call on Him.

NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN PENTECOST NOVENA

We remind you that it is not too late to join in the Original Great Novena: when the Apostles gathered with Our Blessed Mother in the Upper Room to pray for the outpouring of the Divine Paraclete.  Each year we are invited to enter with Them into the Cenacle.  This is the Great Novena of the Universal Church that stretches across time and space and Eternity, and unites all the Children of God in One Cry for the Fullness of His Grace.  And has it ever been more needed?! Choose your favorite Prayer to the Holy Spirit, but please pray.

The Mission and Mission offices will be closed
on Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

Jesus, I trust in You! ~ Lourdes

"Jesus I Trust In You!" I will continue to claim God's Promise - Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 .  I believe I did the best I could as a mom. I need prayers now for me. May our Lord Jesus Christ, place in my heart, Soul and mind to just trust Him and to be able to learn to "Live and Let Live" and to "Let go and let God" handle the rest of my journey now that they are adults. Praying in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen! ~Guadalupe

Pray for my mother Rosie who just had surgery for stage four colon cancer , my father Armando and my sister Iris for strength and healing. Pray for my husband Charley who has severe depression, anxiety and has no will to do anything even live…pray for Gods grace to fill him. ~Ronda

Drawing Our Gaze to Heaven

MAY 21, 2023

Jesus ascends visibly to Heaven, drawing our attention, our hope there. We easily forget about Heaven. But this life is always reminding us about heaven, if we know how to recognize these signs.
