Our Archdiocese Celebrates the Feast of the Ascension
this Sunday.

We will have our monthly social gathering
after Mass.

Who is Our Anchor?

Look Up!

You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth."
And when Jesus had said this, as they were looking on, He was lifted up and a cloud took Him out of their sight. (Acts 1:7-9)

In this world that descends more and more into chaos,
into the nothingness and darkness of sin,
we need to maintain a firm anchor.
JESUS IS OUR ANCHOR.
And where is our Anchor?
He is in Heaven,
far above the maelstrom of the raging spiritual battle.
Far above all sin. Far above all darkness. Infinitely far above Hell.
That is why the more the battle rages, the more darkness and confusion envelop everything,
THE MORE WE MUST LOOK UP TO JESUS.
AT HEAVEN.
AT THEIR LIGHT.
AT THEIR LOVE.

Otherwise the darkness will envelop you, despair will lay hold of your heart,
and Hope will be stifled.
LOOK UP AT JESUS,
HE HAS ALREADY CONQUERED,
SO THAT THE GATES OF HEAVEN MIGHT BE OPENED TO US ONCE MORE.
JESUS, WE TRUST IN YOU.

MIKE NORRIS
Amici Christi Member & Humble Son of Mary

We ask you to pray for the repose of the soul of our dear friend and Amici Christi member, Mike Norris, and for his family. He died last weekend, as the Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima transitioned into Mother’s Day, a fitting time for a man who loved the Blessed Mother. Mike organized several 33-Day Consecrations to Mary and promoted Her Rosary and First Friday and First Saturday devotions to his extensive email list. At Mass in St. Joseph’s Chapel, he was the familiar figure sitting in the second pew on the Divine Mercy side. Mike was a generous supporter and constant promoter of the Mission. He  served on the dorm team for nine men’s Encounter with Jesus retreats and continued attending all the talks because he said that he always learned something new. Other accounts will list his many personal and professional accomplishments. Here at the Mission, it was his warmth, his humility and his profound, simple Faith that marked our experience of him. May Jesus and Mary receive you into Eternal Life, Mike.

NO 11:30 MASS TODAY
DUE TO FUNERAL MASS FOR MIKE NORRIS
AT STS. PETER AND PAUL AT 10 AM.

PENTECOST NOVENA BEGINS TODAY

We remind you that today - nine days before the Vigil of Pentecost - is the beginning of the Time of the Cenacle, when the Apostles gathered with Our Blessed Mother in the Upper Room to pray for the outpouring of the Divine Paraclete.  Each year we are invited to enter with Them into the Cenacle.  This is the Great Novena of the Universal Church that stretches across time and space and Eternity, and unites all the Children of God in One Cry for the Fullness of His Grace.  And has it ever been more needed?! Choose your favorite Prayer to the Holy Spirit, but please pray. And if you are late in seeing this, just hop in.

MASS TIME CHANGE IN JUNE

Beginning with the first Sunday in June,
our Sunday Mass will begin at 9 AM,

Confessions will begin at 8 AM.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:
