Repairing The Offense

Warriors of Light

Easter Vigil 2022

" Be a warrior of light
in the midst of darkness."

Words of Jesus to young Manuel Forderà

Be My Warrior of Light
and by your fidelity, love, and trust,
you repair the offense of the one
who had been created to be the bearer of My Light
among My Holy Angels,
but who turned himself into complete, absolute darkness.
He relentlessly tries to surround and suffocate
My children with that same darkness.

TODAY IS FEAST OF ST. JUAN DIEGO
to whom Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared in 1531

As proof of Her appearance to him, Our Lady instructed Juan Diego to gather roses he would find on Tepeyac Hill, which should not have been blooming in winter, and show them to the Bishop. Juan Diego gathered them in his tilma, or apron, and went to the Bishop. When he opened his tilma the roses spilled onto the floor and on his tilma was the miraculous Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Inexplicably, the original tilma and Image remain intact nearly five centuries later.

FEAST OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE

MONDAY, DECEMBER 12

When our Blessed Mother came to this area of the world, She helped to bring an end to the continuous human sacrifices that were offered to the god of the Aztecs, who was believed to need human blood to maintain his strength. During Her appearance to Juan Diego, Our Lady asked that a church be built in Her honor where She could show Her love for Her children.  When the Indians learned of  the apparitions, they believed and embraced them with tremendous joy. Nine years after the apparitions, nine million Indians had converted to the Christian faith.

Prototype of Cross Erected On Tepeyac Hill

After Mass on December 2nd, an intrepid group of men could be seen scrambling up the steep, rocky hillside behind the Teocalli on Tepeyac Hill.  What they were doing was a puzzle at first. But gradually it became apparent that they were attempting to erect some sort of cross.  The cross itself didn't bear close inspection as it was made from whatever John Weber could find in his workshop. This 14-foot cross is acting as a temporary  prototype, helping to indicate size and location, for a  more permanent Cross that will be built there. The final Cross will be modeled on the Cross of Light,  the MDM Emblem worn by the Community on their habits.  The rocky elevation is great visually, but  presents several engineering problems. Another  intention for which your prayers would be appreciated.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

I love this... saying "Jesus I Trust In You" always calms my mind and soul.~Lucinda
