 | | | | | | THE WEEKS THAT WERE Palm Sunday through Divine Mercy Sunday are without doubt the most concentrated work weeks at the Mission. Community members, staff and volunteers seem to be in constant motion. But it is always worth it, as we sense and see God pouring out His graces and mercies in great abundance. The following is a pictorial overview of some of the events. |
| HOLY THURSDAY Holy Thursday closes with the beautiful Mass of the Institution of the Holy Eucharist. At the conclusion of the Mass, Father John Mary leads a meditative reflection on Christ's Agony in the Garden, helping those who are able to "spend one hour" with Him. |
|  | | GOOD FRIDAY This year's Way of the Cross will go down in the annals of the Mission as the wettest. Rain, that has been so elusive for the past two years, decided to pour down. We became the Black Bag Brigade, with many people supplementing their rain gear with additional black bag protection---even the audio speaker was swathed in black plastic. |
|  | Finally at the Seventh Station, with the audio on the fritz, and trying to protect Father's voice and everyones' health, the Cross bearers led the crowd to St. Joseph Chapel for the second half of the Stations. It was a very memorable Way of the Cross. |
|  | Good Friday afternoon concluded with the Service of the Passion,
Veneration of the Relic of the True Cross,
and praying of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. |
|  | | HOLY SATURDAY Holy Saturday at the Mission begins with praying the Rosary of the Sorrowful Mother. At the beginning of each decade Mother Magdalene reads a meditation on Mary's suffering as She remembers the torture and death of Her Son. But it also reflects Mary's strength, faith and love of the Father. |
|  | | EASTER VIGIL MASS The beautiful Easter Vigil Mass helps us to see a spiritual reality with our eyes: Christ's Light overcoming the darkness. It is joyous! |
|  | After Mass we gathered at the O'Callaghan Center where the amazing kitchen crew had prepared a hot breakfast. It was delicious and very welcome! |
|  | | DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY On Divine Mercy Sunday we climb to the mountain top (or hilltop) where we welcome all to come and celebrate God's abundant Mercy and receive His forgiveness. This past Divine Mercy Sunday, as many remarked, seemed particularly beautiful and grace-filled. Almost as if Jesus wished to step out of His frame and place His hands on the head of every person there. Perhaps He did. |

- We cannot reserve spaces in advance of the opening date for reservation.
- Due to limited space, we will give priority to those who have not made an EWJ.

| | | A NETWORK OF TRUST "This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You" ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL. Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:
