After Mass Fellowship
This Sunday February, 19

Y'all come!

Bring It All to Him
Raise Your Gaze

Raise your eyes to God.
Remember that His ways, and His plans, and His Actions,
ARE NOT LIKE THOSE OF THE WORLD.
NOR LIKE WHAT YOUR REASON WOULD IMAGINE THEM TO BE.

God’s Ways, Plans and Actions are
INFINITE AND FULL OF MERCY AND JUSTICE.
AND VERY IMPORTANTLY, THEY ARE INFINITELY GREATER THAN THE PLANS OF THE ENEMY.

For this reason, it is good to stop frequently and
LOOK UP AT HEAVEN.
Raise your gaze from the rottenness of this world,

And try to see as God sees.
Try to think as He thinks.

But HOW are you supposed to see as He sees,
or think as He thinks?

BY FIRST BRINGING IT ALL TO HIM.

Everything that you see, that you hear, that you feel,
that causes you terror, fear, anguish, despair, sadness, doubts—
bring it all to the Father.
Bring it to Him,
SO THAT TOGETHER, YOU CAN LOOK AT ALL OF IT.
Let Him give you His LIGHT, so that He can teach you how HE sees it,
and how you must truly see it.

So that you regain HOPE,
So that your FAITH is strengthened,
So that you begin to RECOGNIZE HIM more and more,
And so that you become more and more ABANDONED to His love.

Perhaps more than ever before it is necessary to stop seeing with the eyes of the world,
And instead see with the EYES OF ETERNITY.

RAISE YOUR GAZE.
LOOK UP TO THE FATHER WHO LOVES YOU.
WHO WANTS TO ENCOURAGE YOU.

WHO WANTS TO HELP YOU SEE.

 The Mission Is Open
T
HE Mission is open and resumes its regular hours for those who wish to visit and pray.  Trees tied with yellow caution tape have broken branches still caught up in the tree which the crew hasn't been able to remove yet. Just try to avoid walking under them.

Remembering A Loved One at the Mission

“Between us and the Holy Souls is a relationship of profound mutual love and respect.”

Over the years people have asked us for a way to memorialize their loved one out here at the Mission. We asked God to show us an appropriate means and we believe that He inspired us with an approach that would allow people to not just acknowledge their loved ones and support the Mission, but help remind and encourage all visitors to the Mission of our sacred obligation to pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

Please pray for my children. My son needs God in his life. My daughter has lupus and lymphoma.  For my other daughter's education and a Catholic husband. Please pray for me and my husband, we care for my 93 year old mother.~Elvira

***

For my son who has lost his faith. May he return to the Catholic Church and may he find a Catholic wife. ~Stephanie

***

For the return to the faith for my adult children and grandchildren.
Jesus, I trust in you. ~Mary

I Have been saying for many years now “ Jesus I Trust In You” Jesus never fails me I’m the one who fails Him. Praise be Jesus' holy name. ~ Bill

***

For the many wounded hearts who have no one to pray for them. ~ Laurel

Fr. John Mary's Sunday Homily

Rediscovering Love

On this World Marriage Day, we recognize the crisis of love and marriage in our society today.  How can Jesus lead us to authentic love?  We focus on 3 points.

( Comment on homily overheard after Mass: "Father hit that one out of the ballpark.")
