Order Out of Chaos

God Can Transform Suffering into Salvation

Illness. Pain. Death.
God never wished these for us, His children.
They are a consequence of sin, of disobedience and of avarice.
That of Satan and also that of Adam and Eve.

HOWEVER, what Satan uses to cause fear, terror, hatred and despair,
God can use to form and strengthen us
in FAITH, in ABANDONMENT, and in TRUST.

Through our acceptance and our offering
—out of our love for God and obedience to Him—
He can restore the order that has been lost.

Our experience of pain, illness and imperfection,
is an opportunity to cooperate in our own expiation and salvation,
and even that of our brothers and sisters.

Jesus showed us the way.
He taught us with His Passion and Cross, with His Life and His Death,
HOW TO LIVE and HOW TO DIE.
How to carry the Cross of suffering.
How to offer EVERYTHING to the
Father.

And His Resurrection shows us the TRUTH of what awaits us
when we have said our final, “Father, into Your Hands I commend my spirit.”

THIS SATURDAY

"The Devil Bound for a Thousand Years"

The Millennium and Millenarianism

Presented by Br. Mikael

Saturday, February 4,
9:15 AM (approximately)
Msgr. O'Callaghan Center

No Registration Required

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years were ended. After that he must be let out for a little while…Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life, and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (Rev. 20:1-4)

This mysterious passage at the end of the book of Revelation has been a subject of interest and controvery throughout Church history. It has also been the subject of many heresies which we call Millenarianism. In this talk we will look at interpretations found in the Fathers, Doctors, Saints, and approved mystics, as well as Church history and the Magisterium.

STORM RECOVERY

The sound of branches snapping and whole trees falling was nearly continuous.

Roads and driveways were blocked.

Fortunately St. Francis survives.

Dave, Raul and Steve are on it. Recovery will take a while.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

For the return to the faith for my adult children and grandchildren.
Jesus, I trust in you. ~Mary

I Have been saying for many years now “ Jesus I Trust In You” Jesus never fails me I’m the one who fails Him. Praise be Jesus' holy name. ~ Bill

***

For the many wounded hearts who have no one to pray for them. ~ Laurel

In God we trust.~Gary

I just came upon this site while researching Retreat Centers in San Antonio. I felt very drawn to this beautiful place right away. I hope to be in San Antonio in April and am looking for a place to prepare for major family event . Jesus, I Trust in You!
