"Lord, I can't do this."
When Jesus Asks You to Walk on Water

And Peter answered Him, "Lord if it is You, bid me come to You on the water."
Jesus, said, "Come." (Matt. 14:28-29)

Who has not found themselves facing a situation that feels totally overwhelming? And you cry out, "Lord, I can't do this."
But He says "Come."

******

When Jesus asks you to walk on water, do not take your eyes off of Him.
Do not look behind you, at the past,  at what you might have done differently.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.
Do not look to either side at the waves that might swamp you.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.
Do not look ahead, to what the future might hold.
Just look into the Eyes of Jesus and put one foot in front of the other,
never taking your eyes off of Him.
Let your trust in Him rise beyond what you see and what you feel.
And you will walk on water.

A Sight for Sore Knees

St. Joseph Chapel Gets A Few Kneelers

Dave Sommers glues down two layers of padding before covering the kneeler.

Newcomers to the Mission are often surprised, and sometimes dismayed, to find that their seat cushion doubles as a kneeling pad. Well, some relief is in sight. St. Joseph Chapel is  getting a few kneelers for our pews. Not every pew, at least not yet, only the last three rows on each side of the aisle.

My-My guards the new kneelers.

According to Dave, some people who tested the kneelers have commented that they are rather heavy. "But we can't use skinny, weeny planks of wood in our open air chapel or they will warp in one season." Since the pews have slightly different dimensions, each kneeler has to be specifically tailored  for each pew. Nothing at the Mission is easy.

Update on Jared

Jared's surgery, which had been scheduled for Monday, had to be postponed until  conditions around the wound improved. Family members and friends maintain a constant attendance at his bedside. Your continued prayers are very appreciated.
Jesus, we trust in You.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

This prayer is a great companion.~ Joe
