Revisiting a Milestone

Yesterday, October 13 was the 5th anniversary  of our first Mass at the Teocalli.
On October 13th, 2017 we celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima with Mass at our newly completed outdoor sanctuary, Our Blessed Mother's "little house" on Tepeyac Hill.

The construction of the Teocalli was the most rapidly completed project in MDM history. It started as an idea in March 2017 and despite having to build roads and clear a hillside, it was completed in time for the first Mass in October. At the time, St. Anne's Pavilion and the sacristy were still to be constructed.

During 2018 and 2019, the only Masses at the Teocalli took place on Divine Mercy Sunday, which attracts  our largest congregation of the year.
Then came 2020, and in the midst of preparations for Holy Week and Divine Mercy Sunday, the world was forced into a shutdown. By late May 2020, restrictions began to be eased, but distancing requirements were enforced. So we turned to Tepeyac and the Teocalli  for Mass because the wide open space allowed us to accept everyone and not turn anyone away. For nearly 12 months, we held Mass on Tepeyac Hill, through the heat of Texas summer, and the cold of a Texas winter. Only two Sunday Masses had to be cancelled due to weather.  Christmas Midnight Mass, the Easter Vigil  and Divine Mercy Sunday were all celebrated on Tepeyac.

The unexpected usefulness of the Teocalli during the covid restrictions was yet another confirmation of God's mysterious Providence guiding our actions when we try to submit to His Will with faith, humility and obedience.

Currently the Teocalli has returned to being a quiet spot for prayer as it waits to be put into service for the next Feast of Divine Mercy. But we  feel confident that Jesus has future plans for His Mother's Little House.
Plans that are part of His great Mercy for our suffering world.
Jesus, we trust in You.

Update on Susannah's Son

Jared is showing progress in movement and speech recovery. However, one of his most worrisome problems is a deep, puncture wound in his lower back and hip where tissue is dying rather than healing. Yesterday, Susannah sent this prayer request:

"The wound team is monitoring the bottom wound closely and using the wound vac.  They are still considering needing to open it up more to remove tissue deeper up inside.   The team is trying to get it healing enough that a plastic surgeon can do a flap procedure to close it.  The problem is that Jared would have to stay immobile in a special bed for four weeks after the surgery for it to heal.  His brain injury makes it impossible for him to be cooperative with being immobile at this time.  This wound is very serious.  We are in a difficult situation and really need a lot of prayers specifically for this wound to be miraculously healed.  Please help us storm heaven!"

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

Jesus I trust in You to lead my marriage.~ Anonymous

Pray for me, my daughter, my grandson and family. Pray for Peace of this world. ~L
