Though Sometimes It Takes Longer

Light Always Defeats the Darkness

The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)

How can the darkness be defeated if not by the Light of Love?

The more you implore Jesus to come into your Heart,

the more you are able to radiate the Light of Love

and become a Beacon and Shield to help all your brothers and sisters.

Do not underestimate the importance of your particular mission
in defeating the darkness in our world.

Novena to Queenship of Mary Continues Through Monday

(Mother Magdalene wants to make sure that everyone knows that, like the workers in the vineyard who came in at the end of the day and received full wages, you can jump in late to the Novena!)

Beseeching Our Mother to exercise Her Queenship on behalf of the needs
of all Her Anguished Children.

Sunday, August 14 -Monday, August 22.
Vigil of the Assumption to Feast of the Queenship of Mary

(Isn't it wonderful that it started to rain on the first day of the Novena!)

When we thought about an intention for this year's novena we went broad:
FOR OUR CHURCH
FOR OUR COUNTRY
FOR RAIN IN AREAS EXPERIENCING SEVERE DROUGHT
AND FOR YOUR PERSONAL INTENTIONS

We encourage you to turn to your Heavenly Mother with complete trust, and appeal to Her by reciting for nine days the "Hail Mary,"  or the "Hail Holy Queen,"  or the 5th Glorious Mystery or any prayer of your choice.

She loves you and is listening to you.

Help Needed Please!

We are very grateful to those of you who have responded to our request for help. For anyone else out there who has been thinking about it, but hesitating, be assured that our kitchen volunteers are a cheerful crew!

After two years, we are happy to finally  offer our Encounter With Jesus retreats again.  But we have a problem.   We are in real need of additional kitchen volunteers for this Fall's retreats.
All volunteers are required to pass a background check and complete the archdiocesan Safe Environment program, and a food handler's course.
If you are willing to volunteer, we will help you over the hurdles.
Please call David Reed at 830-237-7932.

Both Women's Retreats are full, but you can add your name to a waiting list.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

Prayers needed for my grandson Dylan (car accident) and for me &my family. Only able to be at Mission twice before returning to NC. I miss you so much and you remain in my heart & prayers. Please keep me in yours. Thanking God for your ministries! Love you. ~ Connie
