When God Gives the Mission, He Also Gives the Grace

Does the idea of being one of God’s co-workers cause you to feel anxious? To feel worried about your poverty, your inadequacy, your weakness or woundedness?

Consider St. Michael the Archangel.  Tradition teaches us that he was not created as the greatest nor most beautiful Angel. He was not among the greater ranks—and yet to him was entrusted the command of all the Heavenly Host!

As a created spirit, might he have felt vastly inadequate to the task being assigned to him?

But with the bestowing of the Work, so there was the bestowing of the Grace from God to be able to fulfill it.
Imagine that Grace descending into the center of his being and as a flame igniting in him the great battle cry “Who is like Our God!”  With that cry, St. Michael rallied all the faithful Angels to fulfill the work entrusted to them.

God has given each of us our own particular mission.
If we turn to God with trust, acceptance and the desire to do His will, He will give us the Grace to rise fearless and with vigor to accomplish that mission.

Help Needed Please!

After two years, we are happy to finally  offer our Encounter With Jesus retreats again.  But we have a problem.   We are in real need of additional kitchen volunteers for this Fall's retreats.
All volunteers are required to pass a background check and complete the archdiocesan Safe Environment program, and a food handler's course.
If you are willing to volunteer, we will help you over the hurdles.
Please call our office at 830-302-2238, or call David Reed at 830-237-7932.

Novena to Queenship of Mary

Beseeching Our Mother to exercise Her Queenship on behalf of the needs
of all Her Anguished Children.

Starts Next Week

Sunday, August 14 -Monday, August 22.
Vigil of the Assumption to Feast of the Queenship of Mary

When we thought about an intention for this year's novena we went broad:
FOR OUR CHURCH
FOR OUR COUNTRY
FOR RAIN IN AREAS EXPERIENCING SEVERE DROUGHT
AND FOR YOUR PERSONAL INTENTIONS

We encourage you to turn to your Heavenly Mother with complete trust, and appeal to Her by reciting for nine days the "Hail Mary,"  or the "Hail Holy Queen,"  or the 5th Glorious Mystery or any prayer of your choice.

She loves you and is listening to you.

A NETWORK OF TRUST

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:

"The more I pray, the more I see God hears my prayers. I do trust in Jesus."~ Nancy

"I will commit to saying this 20 times a day. I know that God forgives my sin, but I am trying to forgive myself. Thank you for your love of the Holy Father and for us. "~ Anonymous
