This Sunday Is
the Feast of the Holy Trinity

Fathoming Who God Is

Contemplate His Attributes

On one occasion I was reflecting on the Holy Trinity, on the essence of God. I absolutely wanted to know and fathom Who God is. .....In an instant my spirit was caught up into what seemed to be the next world. I saw an inaccessible Light, and in this Light what appeared like three sources of Light which I could not understand. And out of that Light came words in the form of lightning which encircled heaven and earth. Not understanding anything, I was very sad.
Suddenly, from this sea of inaccessible Light came our dearly beloved Savior, unutterably beautiful with His shining Wounds. And from this Light came a Voice which said, "Who God is in His Essence, no one will fathom, neither the mind of Angels nor of man."

Jesus said to me, "Get to know God by contemplating His attributes." A moment later, He traced the Sign of the Cross with His Hand and vanished.(#30)
Oh, how great is the mercy of the Lord; it surpasses all His other qualities! Mercy is the greatest attribute of God; everything that surrounds me speaks to me of this.(#611)

Divine Mercy In My Soul
The Diary of St. Faustina

Under the leadership of Archbishop Gustavo, and joining with the whole Archdiocese we pray...

For all our Catholic brothers and sisters in Owo, Nigeria who were brutally massacred while they worshipped at Mass, that God, in His infinite mercy, may gather them to Himself and bring them to their eternal reward in heaven, we pray to the Lord.

No Mass on Wednesday, June 22 or Friday, June 24.

The Community will make its annual retreat week.

Mission to Close for the Entire Month of July

The Mission will be closed the entire month of July to provide our religious community with a sabbatical month in their 20th anniversary year. This means that there will be no public Masses at the Mission in July, instead of the usual two weeks. We are sorry for those who will be disappointed or inconvenienced by this, but the Community believes that this sabbatical month will provide a needed break  to fortify them for the long haul.

The Mission office will be open during regular office hours so that work projects may continue.  However, the Mission grounds will be closed so that Dave and his crew can proceed with special annual maintenance operations.

MDM Saturday Morning Reflection

Our Lady of La Salette

9:30 AM, Saturday, June 25
 Msgr. O'Callaghan Center

Br. Mikael will offer insights, based on the discoveries of Fr. Michel Corteville, into the secrets given by Our Blessed Mother to two young shepherd children in La Salette, France in 1846.  The apparitions received approval by the local bishop in 1851, but the secrets entrusted to the shepherds had ramifications within the Church that still reverberate today.

Did You Lose A Change Purse?

A change purse was found in the Sacramental Shop last week. If you think this might be yours,  please call Jackie at 830 -302- 2238, and be prepared to describe the purse and its contents.

 Crosses Created from Mission Trees

Wooden crosses made from various downed Mission trees are available in our Sacramental Shop.  The Mission is consecrated to our Lord Jesus through His Holy Mother Mary so we hope that even the trees and their wood, in the form of these crosses, carry the special graces of that consecration. The crosses have been blessed by Fr. John Mary and are approximately 6" x 3.5". They are available for a suggested donation of $10.

"This is what MDM is called to be: a growing communion of trust in His Mercy
for our needy world." ~ Fr. John Mary

MDM started encouraging people to pray "Jesus, I trust in You"  ten times a day back in 2011. Recently we felt it was important to remind people to turn to Jesus with this simple, powerful prayer in a world that feels more and more out of control. We are suggesting 20 times, but some people find themselves repeating it hundreds of times. It reminds our troubled souls that GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Many of you have put your name on our growing list and have also left a prayer intention or testimony:
"When I’m unable to fall back to sleep at night, I find myself repeating this aspiration and I feel Jesus is close to me listening. ~Pat

A Gentle Reminder of Appropriate Dress for Mass

The Mission is a monastery, not a parish. It is our HOME and we very happily welcome others to join us for Mass. But, we ask you to please respect our request for appropriate attire when you attend Mass here.  Out of respect for the Eucharist, and each other, we ask that you don't wear shorts; sleeveless tops;  or tight, revealing clothing that is cut up to here and down to there. And if you are bringing a friend or family member for the first time, it is a kindness to mention this in advance.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
We think Jesus appreciates it too.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

On this feast of Pentecost we consider, with St. Thomas Aquinas, how the Holy Spirit inspires us and helps us by His gifts, and how we can become more receptive to them.  Thus He can transform our life.
