Margaret O'Connor Foster
December 7, 1923 - February 14, 2022

Margaret O'Connor Foster passed peacefully from death to New Life in Christ on Valentine's Day. She was the mother of six children, including Fr. John Mary and Mother Magdelene.   She was also the grandmother of Brother Mikael.  Two other children, Emily and Paul, also work at the Mission. Her two oldest sons, Russell of Morgantown, WV and David of Springfield, KY had recently had the chance to visit with her.  Margaret was surrounded by family members who were  praying the Rosary, when she died.

Margaret grew up in Pittsburgh, one of nine children. She graduated college in 1945 and in 1947 she married Ruel Foster,  a professor of English at West Virginia University.  Margaret and Ruel remained in Morgantown where they raised their six children.

The foundation of her life was always her strong Catholic faith. It was deeply rooted in the family in which she grew up and she brought it into her marriage and  passed it on to her children in a very natural way. When  two children entered religious life, both Ruel and Margaret gave them their full support and prayers.  When the Mission of Divine Mercy was founded, they followed its  development with tremendous interest, and  it was never far from their thoughts and prayers.

In 2009, now a widow of ten years, Margaret  moved to Texas and lived in  a house that she had built on the Mission property.

"God's little warrior, mighty in battle against the darkness of hell."

Jesus, I trust in YOU.
