...Behold, the Lord will come to save the nations,
and the Lord will make the glory of His voice heard in the joy of your heart. (Is. 30:19,30)

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
December 8th

No More Than A Glance

All who fix their gaze on My Mother, the all-lovely, the Immaculate,
will find themselves inwardly illumined and warmed.
My Mother communicates something of the fullness of grace that is Hers
to all who call upon Her name,
and even to those who do no more than glance at Her image with affection and hope.

Helping Children to Love Jesus and

Be Attentive at Mass

David and Marilyn Reed,  MDM staff  members, are parents and grandparents several times over.  They have a lot of experience in the joys and tribulations of bringing  toddlers and young children to Mass.  Not only bringing them, but helping them to begin to understand what is happening at Mass, and to grow in their love for Jesus. Recently they decided to put their experience to good use by preparing two booklets:

  • How to Love Jesus at Mass - A picture guide for young children that leads them through the Mass. Little "angels" give them visual cues on appropriate behavior and actions. The photos were taken in  and around St. Joseph Chapel and feature a lot of familiar faces.
  • Parent's Guide - A companion booklet that helps parents to help their children benefit from the  children's booklet.

The Reeds will be available after Mass the next two Sundays, Dec. 5 & 12, with sample copies of their booklets for parents and grandparents to view, discuss, and even take home for a week before bringing them back to the Mission. If they wish, they could then order a copy to purchase.

INSPIRATION?

As they were leaving Tuesday evening's Holy Hour together,
a woman commented  to Mother Magdalene:

"While praying, I got a strong sense that we need to pray for the safety of
our Supreme Court justices."

Adoration to End Abortion to lend spiritual support
to a legal case being brought to the Supreme Court  on December 1st.

We are inviting everyone to pray the Angelus for nine days.
It will conclude on Wednesday, Dec. 8,
the Feast of the Immaculate Conception

THE ANGELUS

. The Angel of the LORD declared unto Mary,

. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary…

. Behold the handmaid of the LORD.

. Be it done unto me according to thy word.

Hail Mary…

. And the Word was made flesh.

. And dwelt among us. (Bowing slightly.)

Hail Mary…

. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

. That we might be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray,

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O LORD, Thy grace into our hearts; that, we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.

An Era of Peace?

Is there a coming Era of Peace in Jesus?  How do the Scriptures of Advent shed a light of hope on our times?  And what relevance does it have for our little MDM?
