ONE MORE SUNDAY Before Mass Returns

This Is Not
My Voice

There is a kind of guilt that keeps souls far from Me--
such guilt is the effect of a wounded pride, of a deep disappointment in one's flawed self.
Never succumb to the guilt that whispers,
Stay away.  It is of no use.
There is nothing left for you here.
You are incapable of the vocation you thought you heard.
Accept your failure to live it and admit that you were deceived.

It is rather the voice of the accuser
who borrows all the voices of your past,
still alive in your memory, and makes use of them
to assault you with a barrage of lies
that are calculated to bring you down and cause you to despair.

The members of our staff who contracted Covid are on the mend.
Thanks be to God.
And no one else has contracted the virus.

Thanks be to God.
In one more week, Sunday, August 1st, at 9 AM
we will have Mass at St. Joseph.
Thanks be to God.

Who would believe that this green space could be found in south Texas at the end of July? Normally this would be an expanse of dead grass. The rains have been very unusual and very welcome. Thanks be to God.

Psalm 91

Assurance of God's Protection

He who dwells in the shadow of the Most High,
who abides in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, My God in whom I trust."
For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

Because you have made the Lord your refuge,
the Most High your habitation,
no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

For He will give His Angels charge of you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.

Because he clings to Me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows My name.
When he calls to Me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
and show him My salvation.
